I'm still using the default sendmail on my Raq4 and the lack of a spam
filtering system on it really annoys me. 8-)

I'd really like to replace sendmail with postfix and integrate
SpamAssassin that way (which is how I do it on my Sun servers, etc.
elsewhere), but while the 'official' MTA is sendmail and Chillisoft
expects to see Sendmail on the system, it's best to stick with that and
integrate the spam-filtering into sendmail.

Which gets to the next point - I have not done any sendmail config work
for a long time (almost 10 years!) and use Postfix exclusively so I'm
familiar with how that works.

Can a spamassassin package for a Raq really be a 'drop in' addition to the
existing sendmail installation? I'm sure it requires configuration to get
working but perhaps that's sorted out at the same time as the filtering
package is installed?

BTW, what's the best way to get the main perl installation upgraded? I
want to dump the perl-5.005 installation and use perl-5.8.7 instead but
there's something about the default perl which prevents it being
completely replaced... Sun (or Cobalt before 2000) must have done
something to make replacing perl difficult. 8-)

Craig.
