[Zeffie-Users] Cobalt VelociRaptor/Axent

Well to bring people up to speed. I got a chance to acquire a Cobalt
VelociRaptor on EBAY and as with most great deals on ebay you get no
cords, manuals or disks with anything. I have since receiving it
contacted Sun, Nortons and even talked for a bit with Zeffie (thanks for
the info). But I need some hand holding I fear. This is not as easy as
the Qube3 I setup for our print office that's for sure.
Ok I've gone the entire gambit and have received the final info that
should I bring this online it would just be an open invite for hackers
due to the age of the firewall. Fine I'll accept that, but I was also
told that the hardware is still a good usable base ( bonus). Now a
possibly totally stupid question. In the current configuration all I can
do is hit the box with my browser and get an access denial. So I'm
thinking how can I replace the installed software if I can not at least
get to the admin page? I'm thinking I'm doing something real simple that
is not allowing me to access this box. Upon boot I get this...
Loading Kernel.......
Bad License
I have to either wait or hit a button or two then I get..
System Status...OK
It will then go into the system setup process (if not set up) and it
asks for the following.
IP
subnet
gateway
subnet
all good so far
RMC IP ????
and subnet
is that entry for the IP of the computer that will be the remote
management console?
also there is another one but I gapped it at this moment. You see my
problem is, any and all manuals I have grabbed from the web and there
have been several, none list these additional ip address requests. I
even removed the additional dual NIC card hoping that might solve the
additional requests but that changed nothing. I tried just hitting the
ip address of the Raptor and the ip address/login/ and still nothing,
did a factory reset several times and even tried the suggested password
reset via the tiny hidden button next to the LCD but that also was a
factory reset. I would like to use this even if it's going to have a
firewall other than the one that came with it, but I still need to be
able to remote into it, to at least setup the new OS.
Please could someone help, thank you.
TIA
Richard
